The axis of rotation of the mandible between rest position and full closure is evaluated in the mixed dentition. Both skeletal and functional Class III malocclusions are found to have axes of rotation near or higher than the area of the condyle, while in anterior crossbite and normal occlusions it is found at a lower level.Abstract
