Abstract

A short-term longitudinal study of the role of mandibular anterior crowding in inflammatory periodontal diseases. Crowded dentitions show more periodontal involvement, and the improvement after scaling disappears more rapidly.

Drs. Mangoury and Mostafa are in the private practice of orthodontics in Cairo, Egypt, where they also serve on the faculty of orthodontics at Cairo University Faculty of Dentistry. They are Dental graduates (B.D.S.) of Cairo University. Both hold M.S. degrees in Orthodontics and Ph.D. degrees from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Dr. Mangoury also completed one year of graduate orthodontic studies at Indiana University prior to transferring to Marquette to join her husband, Dr. Mostafa

Dr. Gaafar holds B.D.S., H.D.D., and Ph.D. degrees from Cairo University. She is a lecturer of Periodontics and Oral Medicine at the same University
