Abstract

A technique is presented for the lingual bonded retention of anterior teeth. Functional concepts to guide the goals of orthodontic treatment during finishing are reviewed. The importance of proper anterior guidance is emphasized as the protector of posterior teeth in eccentric jaw position. Clinical procedures for attaining optimum function are suggested, including the elimination of removable retainers.
