We applied approximately 250 gm per side using a closed coil spring (or elastomeric chain) in the buccal miniscrew group.

Average treatment duration was 32 ± 13.9 months for the MCPP group and 28.2 ± 7.1 months for the BMS group; there was no significant difference between the two groups regarding the total treatment duration.

The treatment goal was achieving Class I molar relationship. We did not mention the comparison of total treatment period in this article; however, we focused on assessing treatment effects after maxillary arch distalization.

We used welded hooks in all cases of the BMS group. The crimped hook in Figure 4B is just a schematic drawing.

In this research, we evaluated the position of the upper incisors between pre- and post-treatment. The upper central incisors were not bonded initially in case of having concern of round tripping of the teeth.
