Re: Factors influencing treatment efficiency: A prospective cohort study. Min-Ho Jung. Angle Orthod. 2021;91:1–8.
Thank you for publishing this paper comparing treatment between self-ligating and conventional brackets. We would like to congratulate the author for their amazing work and ask them a few questions:
-
The authors described in Table 3 that the samples consisted of adult and adolescent patients, with Class I, Class II, or Class III malocclusion, but the facial patterns (hypodivergent, normodivergent, or hyperdivergent) were not mentioned. Do you think that variation in the facial patterns between the groups could influence the outcome of the research?
-
Could you clarify how the archforms of the wires used were determined? Were the archforms customized for individual patients or were there differences in archforms used between the groups? Similarly, what bracket prescriptions were used and were they different between the groups? Lastly, were miniscrews placed in any of the patients?
Thank you again for your insights.
